What did our data teams look like this year?

(Teams worked in small groups to collect data around experiences this year.)
Strengths:
Process caused growth & knowledge.

Allowed us to go deeper.

Ability to develop pre/post assessments.

Quality vs. quantity in lessons (focus).

Accountability.

Helped time the units.

How to narrow down big ideas.

Learn about colleagues' learning styles.

Regular communication.

Comparing student work.

Common language.

Progress monitoring.

SchoolNet (next year)

Obstacles:

Specialists not being a part of the conversation.

Some grade levels had no partner.

Vertical awareness - common language.

How to communicate with other groups - 1/month sharing.

Facilitator/notetaker = same person!

Defining what proficiency looks like in some areas.

Bring in other data points like Benchmarks, DIBELS (6 week review).

Going in with a focus - leave each meeting with specific next steps.
Regular time to meet whole group - progress monitor our data team conversations.

Look ahead at exams and next steps.

Think about how to involve specialists.
Master calendar?

Vertical board like we did with math.

Use PD time @ beginning of August to frontload Step A for the year.
